There have been unusually high numbers of Manx shearwaters around the islands over the last month and joining in with them there has been several Balearic shearwaters including one on last nights pelagic with a geolocator on its leg.

    The Balearic with the orange darvic is one of the birds tagged in Sa Cella, Mallorca.

    The feather are fresh (no moult) and the undersides are greyish-dusky. Its one of the fledglings marked this year.

    Very exited with this birds.

  2. Just forgot to add that this year fledglings were tagged: darvic+GLS right tarsus and metal+pit tag on the left. Adul breeding birds have the GLS on the left tarsus.
