Cecropia Moth


This Cecropia moth was found on Tresco by a Visitor .It is one of the largest Moths in North America and a member of the Giant Silk Moths.

    What a beauty, how do you think it got to Tresco - Does anyone buy cocoons over there or could it have come in on a plant ? Sue

    We think it did Probobly came over in a plant or tree sent over to Tresco .

    My neighbor gave my son a caterpillar last fall, justt tonight the cocoon finally hatched.....I am now a mom to a Cecropia Moth..... Now what do I do with it though ????
