I couldn't resist another visit to porth hellick today to see the Squacco heron that has been there for over two  weeks.

I had a quick walk around after work and saw a Cuckoo at Deep point , and found  the Golden Oriole on the Airfield that had been there for a few days.

Barn Owl

This Barn Owl was found hunting near Innisigen on Tuesday evening , we later found out it was an escapee .

One of the Adult Little Bittern's that are on the islands at the moment made a  appearance at Porth Hellick yesterday evening.

Over the last month we seem to have been inundated with Herons the latest being a Little Bittern and Squacco Heron turning up today , there are still several Night heron's being seen daily, s, there was a  Purple Heron seen yesterday on Bryher , and of course the Great Blue Heron which was around for several weeks, which now seems to have moved on. what next!!

Common Crane Plus a Female Garganey.

The Common Crane that arrived last week is still moving around the Islands , and the female Garganey was on shooters pool lower moors.
